The Bory Bývanie residential project builds on the natural character of the area Bory Bývanie is located on the western edge of Bratislava, right next to the Bory Mall shopping center.
This modern neighborhood is part of a broader urban concept combining housing, civic amenities, and high-quality public space. Greenery plays a significant role here – it surrounds streets, playgrounds, and courtyards, contributing to a pleasant microclimate and the overall well-being of residents. Emphasis was placed on the use of mature trees with a trunk circumference of up to 35–40 cm and multi-stem trees with a height of 300–350 cm, which provide an immediate spatial impact and microclimatic benefits from the moment of planting.
The plantings include classic avenue trees such as Carpinus betulus 'Frans Fontaine', as well as ornamental species that offer visual appeal throughout the year – for example, Pyrus calleryana 'Chanticleer' with spring blossoms or Acer tataricum ssp. ginnala with vibrant autumn color. Special attention is given to the planting of pines – specifically Pinus sylvestris 'Norska'. These trees restore the character of the pine groves historically typical of this part of the city, after which the area – Bory – is named.
The public space concept creates a high-standard living environment – not only through greenery but also through carefully designed sightlines, seating areas, and overall spatial composition linked to the surrounding architecture. Trees and greenery naturally complement the contemporary architecture and contribute to the creation of a quality urban block with a strong identity and pleasant atmosphere.
